Selin Aydinol (1994, Istanbul) moved from Istanbul to Antwerp in 2016. In 2019 she received her master degree in painting from Royal Academy of Antwerp. Her latest exhibitions were To Be Antwerp in Geukens en De Vil Gallery and De Nieuwe Garde by Kunst in Huis for Antwerp Art Weekend 2021. She is also a board member of NICC.
Selin makes abstract paintings with acrylic and lacquer on wooden panels. The mystery of abstraction inspires her to make transfigurations. She turns a figurative image into several abstract paintings. Selin also believes that as opposed to figurative paintings, abstract paintings have more room for interpretation and expression.
